Where do our Puppies come from ?
Lucky Puppies of Idaho is proud to be the premier destination for happy, healthy puppies. We work hard to ensure that our customers have access to the best selection of well-bred puppies. Our puppies come from breeders who care about the welfare of their dogs and who meet all of the criteria for ethical breeding practices.
We take pride in our long-standing relationships with our breeders, and we're committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience. Our commitment to providing only the best for our puppies means that we have zero tolerance for sub-standard breeders or puppy mills. We take the health and well-being of our puppies seriously, and we want to ensure that they are treated with the care and respect they deserve from the day they are born.
Understanding USDA and what it means for the puppies
You may have heard the term USDA which is used in most puppy stores. It I s important to understand what this means and why some puppies may come from USDA breeders and others do not.

USDA is the same agency that regulates the food you and I feed our families. In order to be inspected by USDA a breeder must have at least 4 breeding female dogs.

Many of the breeders that we choose to work with areNOT USDA licensed as they are for example only breeding two female dogs. We love working with breeders who are small and especially Local.
No matter which breeder we choose we require all puppy breeders to comply with local standards set by their respective authorities.

Routine Veterinary Oversight
All of our puppies are examined by a licensed veterinarian before arriving at our store. We continue those vet visits regularly once they’re in our care.
Our breeders are required to have regular health checks on their adult dogs and puppies alike, so your new family member comes from a healthy lineage.
